APWA Multan recently organized an impactful Seminar on Women Empowerment at Women’s University Multan, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of empowering women in all aspects of life. APWA Multan, in collaboration with the SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police) and the Roshni Welfare Organization, recently organized a Distribution Ceremony to provide much-needed support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The ceremony focused on distributing wheelchairs and dry ration bags to help improve the mobility and quality of life for individuals facing physical challenges. The event was held with the aim of ensuring that PWDs in the community have access to essential resources. The wheelchairs will enable individuals with mobility impairments to move around more easily, while the dry ration bags provided vital food supplies to families in need, offering relief during difficult times. The ceremony was attended by representatives from APWA, SSP, and Roshni Welfare Organization, along with community members, creating a sense of solidarity and support for those in need. This initiative highlighted the importance of collaboration between various organizations to improve the lives of marginalized groups, reinforcing the message of inclusivity and community welfare.

APWA Multan held a “16 Days of Activism” Awareness and Solidarity Walk, highlighting the theme “Rise Together – Empowering Women Creating Equality.” The event, held at Benazir Women Crisis Center and Darul Aman, aimed to raise awareness, acknowledge government support, and unite community members, activists, and officials for gender equality. APWA emphasized collective efforts, showcasing unity and commitment to address challenges faced by women, promoting empowerment, and envisioning a more inclusive future.

APWA Multan recently showcased its vibrant Handicrafts Stall at an exhibition organized by APWA Lahore, highlighting the incredible talent and creativity of local women artisans. The stall featured a wide array of handcrafted items, including traditional textiles, jewelry, pottery, and decorative pieces, all made by women in the community. The exhibition provided an excellent platform for these artisans to display their work, connect with a wider audience, and promote their craft. It also helped raise awareness about the importance of supporting women-led businesses and preserving traditional craftsmanship. The Handicrafts Stall at the exhibition not only attracted numerous visitors but also offered valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration, helping the artisans expand their reach and gain recognition. This initiative is part of APWA’s broader mission to empower women through economic independence and skill development, creating a positive impact on the community.

APWA Multan recently organized a Car Driving Workshop aimed at empowering women by providing them with the skills and confidence to drive safely and independently. The workshop was designed to teach basic driving techniques, road safety rules, and practical skills for navigating various traffic situations. During the workshop, experienced instructors guided participants through both theoretical lessons and hands-on practice. Topics included car maintenance basics, understanding road signs, defensive driving, and emergency handling. The interactive sessions ensured that women felt comfortable and capable behind the wheel, while also promoting safe driving habits. This Car Driving Workshop was an essential step in breaking barriers and encouraging women to take on new challenges, fostering independence, and enhancing mobility. All APWA annual Regional Chapters Meeting was held at APWA Headquarter Lahore. All APWA branches presented their annual activity reports, next year future plans and agendas. They also shared their regional challenges to promote women empowerment. Ms Nazia Khan, General Secretary along with Ms Tehmina Munir & Sadia Ali participanted on behalf of APWA Multan. Multan chapter activities were highly appreciated by Chairperaon APWA Punjab Ms Samia Zahid Aslam and National advisor APWA Ms Shaheen Attiqur Rehman. Handicrafts were also exhibited by APWA Multan. All districts branches members participated in a symposium and an Awareness walk against Breast Cancer.

APWA Multan’s Health and Safety Measurements Workshop, conducted on October 17, 2023, marked a pivotal moment in promoting safety awareness. Students from Farrukh Mukhtar Girls High School and College also actively participated in the safety measures activity done during the workshop. APWA Multan recently hosted a visit from students and teachers of MASH Nursing College. The purpose of the visit was to create awareness about the various programs and initiatives run by APWA, particularly those related to health, education, and women’s empowerment. The class focused on introducing participants to the basics of web development, covering both front-end and back-end aspects, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and an introduction to web design principles. The class was designed to cater to women interested in pursuing careers in tech or looking to enhance their digital skills for personal or professional use. Participants had the opportunity to learn how to create, design, and maintain websites, providing them with valuable knowledge that can open up new career opportunities in the growing digital world. By offering practical, hands-on training, the Web Development Class aimed to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry and encourage more women to engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. This initiative by APWA Multan is part of their broader mission to empower women through education, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in today’s digital economy.

APWA Multan celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism, marking the occasion with a series of activities to honor Pakistan’s freedom and the sacrifices made for it.
