APWA’s contribution to SDGs

Introduction:

All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) Multan is dedicated to empowering women and supporting communities through a wide range of initiatives. This year, we continued to foster education, healthcare, community welfare, and economic independence while aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

SDG 1: No Poverty

Donations (Wheelchairs and Rations): APWA’s philanthropic efforts extended to providing wheelchairs and essential rations, supporting vulnerable families and fostering an inclusive, compassionate community.

SDG 2: Good Health and Well-Being

  • APWA Ambulance & Health Services: APWA’s Ambulance Service continues to serve the underprivileged communities in Multan and its suburbs by providing free consultation and medication every Friday. This initiative ensures that healthcare is accessible to those who would otherwise go without it, improving the well-being of hundreds of individuals in need.
  • Fit Well Hub: In partnership with Fit Well Hub, APWA introduced telemedicine and virtual consultation services. This collaboration enables timely medical attention, reduces waiting times, and enhances access to healthcare for women in Multan, aligning with our goal of improving public health.
  • Yoga Classes: APWA also launched Yoga classes to address the need for holistic wellness programs for women in Multan. These classes focus on physical, mental, and emotional health, offering local women a safe space to prioritize their well-being. This initiative has contributed to the promotion of a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.

SDG 4: Gender Equality

  1. Seminars and Conferences on Women’s Legal Rights: APWA organized several seminars and conferences focused on educating women about their legal rights. These sessions were attended by a lot of women, fostering a deeper understanding of their rights and empowering them to advocate for themselves in various legal matters.
  2. Internships for Women: APWA launched an internship initiative aimed at O and A level, as well as Matric and F.Sc students. The program helps students gain practical skills, strengthens their university applications, and encourages them to contribute meaningfully to their communities. This initiative empowers young women to pursue their professional goals and make impactful contributions to society.

SDG 5: Decent Work and Economic Growth
