APWA’s contribution to SDGs

APWA Multan supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by empowering women through education, healthcare, employment, and welfare. Our programs align with goals such as gender equality, good health, quality education, and economic growth.

APWA’s contribution to SDGs

Introduction: All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) Multan is dedicated to empowering women and supporting communities through a wide range of initiatives. This year, we continued to foster education, healthcare, community welfare, and economic independence
while aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

APWA Ambulance & Health Services: APWA’s Ambulance Service continues to serve the underprivileged communities in Multan and its suburbs by providing free consultation and medication every Friday. This initiative ensures that healthcare is accessible to those who would otherwise go without it, improving the well-being of hundreds of individuals in need.
Fitwell Hub: In partnership with Fitwell Hub, APWA introduced telemedicine and virtual consultation services. This collaboration enables timely medical attention, reduces waiting times, and enhances access to healthcare for women in Multan, aligning with our goal of improving public health.
Yoga Classes: APWA also launched Yoga classes to address the need for holistic wellness programs for women in Multan. These classes focus on physical, mental, and emotional health, offering local women a safe space to prioritise their well-being. This initiative has contributed to the promotion of a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.

Educational Courses: APWA has continued to provide a wide range of courses aimed at empowering women through education. These include:

  • Computer Courses to equip women with essential digital skills for today’s workforce.
  • Fashion Designing and Beautician courses, offering women opportunities for entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Driving courses, empower women with the ability to navigate independently.
  • Functional English & IELTS to enhance language proficiency and enable global opportunities.
  • Cooking classes, empower women with practical skills that foster independence.
  • Fine Arts courses, promoting creativity and self-expression.

These programs are part of APWA’s commitment to enhancing the skills of women and girls in Multan, thereby contributing to their social and economic empowerment.

Seminars and Conferences on Women’s Legal Rights: APWA organized several seminars and conferences focused on educating women about their legal rights. These sessions were attended by a lot of women, fostering a deeper understanding of their rights and empowering
them to advocate for themselves in various legal matters.
Internships for Women: APWA launched an internship initiative aimed at O and A level, as well as Matric and F.Sc students. The program helps students gain practical skills, strengthens their university applications, and encourages them to contribute meaningfully to their communities. This initiative empowers young women to pursue their professional goals and make impactful contributions to society.

Training by MCB Lahore: APWA signed an MOU with MCB Bank Lahore, which allowed trainers from the bank to provide valuable professional development sessions to 22 students. As a result, 14 students were offered jobs at MCB. This partnership has not only helped these women secure jobs, but also contributed to the broader economic growth of the region by empowering women in the financial sector.
Sales and Exhibitions: APWA actively participated in exhibitions throughout the year, providing a platform for students and artisans to showcase their crafts and products. This initiative promotes local businesses, fosters economic growth, and celebrates the cultural heritage of the region, supporting sustainable livelihoods for local women and artisans.

Donations (Wheelchairs and Rations): APWA’s philanthropic efforts extended to providing
wheelchairs and essential rations, supporting vulnerable families and fostering an inclusive,
compassionate community.

White Elephant Sale: APWA’s White Elephant sale, featuring gently used clothing, shoes,
bags, and household goods, provided vital financial support to the underprivileged members of our community. The sale helped raise funds for families in need and also promoted sustainability. Additionally,

Child Protection Workshop: APWA conducted a highly impactful Child Protection Workshop,
educating participants on the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring their
well-being. The workshop focused on prevention, awareness, and responsive measures to protect children from harm, promoting a safer and more secure environment for the next
generation.

The APWA Mobile Dispensary is a vital initiative delivering essential healthcare to underserved areas of Multan.
Staffed by a Medical Officer, Lady Health Visitor (LHV), and Dispenser, it brings medical care to those who need it most.
This mobile unit ensures free consultations and basic treatment are accessible at the community’s doorstep.
It plays a key role in improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Through this service, APWA is making quality healthcare truly inclusive and mobile.

Each medical camp focuses on delivering tailored care to women, addressing their unique health needs.
The Lady Health Visitor (LHV) and Medical Officer work together to provide accurate diagnoses and counseling.
Maternal and child health concerns are a key priority in every session.
Women receive professional guidance, treatment, and support on the spot.
This initiative fosters stronger, healthier communities through focused care.

In addition to health consultations, the dispensary conducts basic diagnostic tests, including random blood sugar and pregnancy tests, while dispensing prescribed medicines to address immediate health needs. During the year, the APWA Mobile Dispensary organized 52 medical camps, serving 12906 patients, effectively promoting preventive and curative healthcare in marginalized communities
